What is MotorOS?
Online software for garages and vehicle dealers in Switzerland: stock, clients, contracts, leasing, workshop and VAT.
Which garages is it for?
Independent garages, used-car dealers, repair workshops and multi-site dealerships. Plans range from 2 users to an unlimited number.
How is MotorOS suited to Switzerland?
VAT broken down by rate and FTA return, notional input tax deduction (Art. 28a VAT Act), QR-bill, master numbers and vehicle registration documents, vehicle inspection reminders, data hosted in Switzerland, interface in French, German, Italian and English.
How much does MotorOS cost?
Three plans — Starter, Pro and Enterprise — at public prices, VAT included, shown in the Pricing section of this page and on the Pricing page. Annual billing costs 15 % less and is billed once a year; monthly billing has no commitment.
Is there a free trial?
Yes: 14 days with the Pro plan features, no credit card required. You fill in the sign-up form, and we open access within 24 to 48 hours.
Can I bring over my existing stock?
Yes. Photograph the vehicle registration documents, or import a CSV file: the AI suggests how the columns match, and you confirm. Both from the Pro plan.
Does MotorOS handle the workshop?
Yes: work orders, quotes, deposits and invoices with QR-bill. A preparation work order charges its cost to the vehicle in stock. Quotes accepted online from the Pro plan, mechanic scheduling on Enterprise.
Does MotorOS prepare the VAT return?
Yes, in all three plans. Sales, workshop invoices and vehicle purchases, notional input tax deduction included, fill in the return, split by rate. Your parts purchases and other expenses are not in it: you or your accountant add them before filing. The CSV export of the journal is included from the Pro plan. MotorOS does not file the return with the FTA for you.
How is a contract signed?
For a sales contract, the garage signs on screen. From the Pro plan, the client receives a secure link and signs on their phone; the signed PDF is sent to them. On Starter, the contract is printed for signing on site. The Cembra leasing contract is signed by hand, then its signed PDF is uploaded to the file.
How is it different from traditional garage software?
You enter a car only once: the record filled in from the registration document is used for the listing, the contract, the work order and the invoice. Sales, workshop and VAT share the same clients and the same vehicles.
Are my documents kept, and can I get them back?
Yes. Contracts, quotes, invoices and client documents stay in the vehicle’s or client’s file, hosted in Switzerland; client documents and contracts are encrypted. Every document can be downloaded as a PDF, and both the journal and the stock can be exported as CSV from the Pro plan. On Enterprise, MotorOS also copies every new contract, accepted quote, workshop document and leasing contract to your OneDrive or SharePoint.
Where is the data hosted?
In Switzerland, at Infomaniak. Each garage’s data is kept separate from that of other garages.
